If you enjoy complex, fully realized mythos and action that takes place in multiple universes and dimensions, read this! Schmitz continues the saga begun in Wolves of the Tesseract (which you ought to read first for many reasons) in which a variety of beings, sects, and armies battle for ... well, the soul of reality. We're anchored by Claire and Jackie, two people from our human world who've been whisked into a realm in which beings can travel through dimensions. Claire has absorbed the former queen of the Prime, Bithia, and now is working to meld personalities. I enjoyed the lizard-like Vyrm race--mostly evil but fascinating. Plenty of swords, battles and romance make this a page-turner.

The second book of this series picks up the great world building of the 1st book and really fleshes out the world that everyone has been dropped into. It is really interesting to get to see the story evolve and to find out the history of the various groups involved and how their motivations have developed. You genuinely become involved in the story and hope the best for all of the heroes while being they seem to have to go through literal hell to accomplish the impossible.
